The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for
* Portions of southern Illinois and southwest Indiana, including the following counties, Edwards, Franklin, Hamilton, Jefferson, Perry IL, Wabash, Wayne IL, Gibson, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Warrick.
* Through Tuesday evening.
* Scattered thunderstorms will produce localized heavy rainfall through Tuesday.
* Significant flash flooding could occur in those areas hit hard with heavy rainfall Sunday.
* AFFECTED AREAS: WARRICK ... JEFFERSON ... GIBSON ... VANDERBURGH ... POSEY ... FRANKLIN ... EDWARDS ... PIKE ... SPENCER ... HAMILTON ... WHITE ... WABASH ... PERRY ... WAYNE
Instructions:
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. Be especially cautious at night, when rising flood waters may be harder to detect. And remember...never drive across a flooded roadway. Turn around, don't drown! You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
