ATTEMPTED SCAM ALERT

A resident received a call this morning from someone claiming to be from Publisher's Clearing House. The caller stated that the resident had won the multi-million dollar prize and asked if she wanted to receive the money. Sensing it was a scam, but wanting to see where things went, the resident said "yes." The next question was asking for personal banking information. The call was ended.

Please be leary of these calls. If you have actually applied to win the Publisher's Clearing House prize and get this call, use extreme caution. Do not give out your bank information to someone that calls you. As with the other similar scams, research the number to the company yourself and make the call for verification.

Please pass this information around, since knowledge of the scam is the best way to avoid falling victim to it.
