Man Arrested After Robbing Brentwood Dunkin Donuts
Suffolk County Police last night arrested a man after he robbed a business in Brentwood.
Andrew Sandson entered Dunkin Donuts, located a 759 Suffolk Ave., and handed a note to an employee at the counter at approximately 9:30 p.m. The note said he had a gun and to give him cash. The employee complied, giving Sandson money from the store’s cash register. Sandson then exited the store, got into a car, and left the scene. No gun was displayed during the robbery and no one was injured.
A customer in the store made note of the car’s license plate number. The plate was traced to an Uber that had driven Sandson to his residence, located at 77 Grant Ave. in Brentwood. The Uber driver was not involved in the robbery.
Sandson, 57, was arrested at his residence at 10:11 p.m. and charged with Robbery 3rd Degree. He will be held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on June 17.
