On June 13, 2019, Thousand Oaks Police Department Detectives quickly recovered a victim’s stolen property. On the morning of June 13, 2019, an Oak Park resident discovered his truck was rummaged through and numerous items were missing. He discovered his wife’s vehicle had also been stolen.
 
The investigation unfolded quickly and Thousand Oaks Police Department Detectives collaborated with Los Angeles Police Department Officers to detain suspects at a storage facility in their jurisdiction. The suspects were located next to an open storage locker and a vehicle. Nicole Childs and Phillip Jackson were detained and the victim was able to identify numerous items of his stolen property visible in the vehicle and in the storage locker.
 
Thousand Oaks Police Department Detectives responded to continue the investigation. A search of the vehicle and storage locker used by the suspects revealed more stolen property, narcotics, and a revolver. The serial number on the revolver had been purposely removed.
 
Nicole Childs was arrested for VC 10851(a) – Unlawful Taking of a Vehicle, and PC 496(a) – Receiving Stolen Property.
 
Phillip Jackson was arrested for VC 10851(a) - Unlawful Taking of a Vehicle, PC 496(a) – Receiving Stolen Property, PC 487(a) – Grand Theft, and PC 182(a)(1) – Conspiracy to Commit a Crime.
 
Based on the ongoing status of the investigation, additional criminal charges will follow.
