On June 6th 2019, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Gang Unit concluded a month long investigation into known gang member Santiago Gomez, who was believed to be in possession of firearms and ammunition. Gomez is a previously convicted felon and prohibited from owning and/or possessing firearms and ammunition.
Detectives served a signed search warrant at Gomez’ residence located in the 11000 block of Nardo Street in the unincorporated area of Saticoy. During the search warrant service, detectives located an AK-47 style rife and a loaded handgun. The rifle had the serial number removed and a records check revealed the handgun had been reported stolen from a previous burglary. Several other items were located at the residence including gun holsters and different caliber ammunition. Gomez was not at the residence during the service of the search warrant but was later located by Headquarters Station patrol deputies and taken into custody without incident.
