Advisory

Say NO to Illegal Fireworks

The City of Temple City, in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, has a zero tolerance policy regarding illegal fireworks in the city.

The use and/or possession of dangerous fireworks is illegal, and those who are caught can be fined for violations that range from $250 to $5,000.  Property owners can be held responsible if illegal fireworks are used on their property, or if illegal fireworks are in the possession of others.

Report illegal fireworks like sky rockets, bottle rockets, firecrackers, Roman candles, M-80s and cherry bombs to the Sheriff's Department at (626) 285-7171.

Only "Safe and Sane" fireworks are allowed in Temple City and they can only be discharged on July 4, between the hours of noon and 10 p.m.  "Safe and Sane" fireworks are identified by the State Fire Marshal's "Safe and Sane" Seal.  Residents and visitors should also be aware that the use of fireworks is prohibited on City property, including parks and parking lots.
