Candace Berrell selected as May 2019

Student of the Month!
Fairfield PAL member, Candace Berrell has been selected as the Solano First Federal Credit Union Student of the Month for May 2019.
Candace is an Independent Studies student at Fairfield-Suisun Unified where she is in the 8
th grade. She has been a PAL member for two years. “I like to do a lot of things at PAL” she says. “But my favorite is usually the skate nights.” Candace is also an artist. Her sister introduced her to art several years ago—and she has continued to enjoy it!
In her nomination, her peers talked about how approachable Candace is. They said she is easy to talk to and always nice to everyone. “I can ask Candace for help—and she is never too busy to help” wrote one of her nominators. “Even if she is having fun doing something, she will stop to help you if you need it.” Several other nominations cited her warm smile. “Candace always has a smile on her face….and if you are having a bad day, you can count on her smile to help you feel better.”
The Fairfield PAL program offers teens a place to grow, learn, and build the skills they need today and in the future. The PAL Center offers teens a safe environment, supports working families and helps students achieve by giving them opportunities right now.
The Fairfield PAL Program is open to Fairfield, Suisun, and Travis students ages 13-18 who are enrolled in school. Memberships are $10 per year and can be purchased at the Fairfield Community Center (1000 Kentucky Street) Mon-Thursday between 11:30-5:30pm. A current student ID is required to register.
