Man facing charge after missing woman's body uncovered at construction site

Lt. Andy Manis of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Norris Lewis Westall, 46, address listed as Quail Ridge Drive in Marion, with concealment of human remains.
Westall was a friend of Brooke Mashay Tollie, 24, address listed as Riverview Acres Drive in Marion. Tollie went missing on Monday, May 13, and, after an extensive investigation by McDowell County Sheriff’s Office detectives, on Wednesday, June 5, her remains were uncovered at a construction site in the Golden Valley community of Bostic in Rutherford County.
Manis said Westall and Tollie were at Westall’s residence on May 13 and 14, when Tollie died. Westall took Tollie’s body to the construction site in Bostic, an area with which he was familiar, and buried her there.
Preliminary autopsy reports showed no traumatic injuries to Tollie’s body. However, the exact cause of death is still unknown and is pending the outcome of toxicology testing.
At the time of his arrest Tuesday evening, June 11, Westall was also served with outstanding warrants for failure to appear in court on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
