05/02/2019 *Malicious Destruction of Property
8900 Block of Main St –Officers were called on a disorderly person who had just broken a residential window. The investigation revealed that the suspect was intoxicated and had been visiting the complainant. The resident desired restitution rather than prosecution and the subject was assisted in meeting her Lyft driver to take her home.

05/02/2019 *Malicious Destruction of Property – Hit & Run
3300 Block of 7 Mile Rd – A homeowner reported that his rural mailbox was damaged. During the investigation an officer recovered evidence suggesting an older model Chevy Pickup may have been involved. Anyone having information regarding this possible hit & run is asked to contact the Northfield Twp Police.

05/02/2019 *Arrest – Fugitive Warrant
U.S 23 & E North Territorial –During a traffic stop for a vehicle without a license plate- it was discovered that the vehicle had no insurance and the driver of the vehicle was wanted on an outstanding warrant. The vehicle was impounded, and the driver arrested, issued a ticket and turned over to the jurisdiction holding the warrant.

05/05/2019 *Assist Fire
66000 Block of 8 Mile Rd – At 7:40pm, officers and fire fighters responded to a semi-truck on fire. The truck was locked on private property and was not occupied. The fire was extinguished and the case remains under investigation. If anyone saw any activity, or has any information regarding this fire, contact the Northfield Twp Police.

05/06/2019 *Larceny (Theft without force)
70 Block of E. Shore – A homeowner reported that on May 5 at 2 pm he discovered that his gray 12,000 lb winch was taken from his porch. The homeowner believes someone took it within the previous week. No witnesses or suspects were determined.

05/06/2019 Assist Fire
The Regency – Officers arrived to assist Northfield Twp Fire and observed smoke coming form the storage closet – officers, firefighters and several agencies assisted in evacuating staff and patients from the south wing of the building –The fire was contained and extinguished by the fire department. No one was injured in the incident and the case remains under investigation.

05/10/2019 *Embezzlement
2400 E North Territorial – The owner of the company discovered several unauthorized charges were made using the company credit cards. The case remains under investigation.

05/10/2019 *Larceny
9400 Block of Main St –Officers are investigating a report of missing/stolen property. The complainant believes that the property was stolen by a former boyfriend. The case remains under investigation.

05/12/2019 *Malicious Destruction of Property
9000 Block of Lincoln – A resident reported that an intoxicated acquaintance kicked in the front door of the attached residence. Officers spoke with the occupant residing next to the caller, this resident contacted the suspect and the suspect agreed to pay for damages.

05/13/2019 *Larceny
East Shore – A resident reported that sometime between May 13 at 7pm and May 15 at 7pm an unknown subject cut his battery cables and removed his battery from his Jet Ski. No witnesses or suspects were identified.

05/15/2019 *Larceny
300 Block of Barker – A resident reported that sometime between May 4 & May 13 an unknown subject(s) took his jet ski and trailer without permission. No witnesses or suspects were identified. The case remains under investigation.

05/16/2019 *Warrant Arrest
U.S 23 & 8 Mile – A Northfield Officer met with a Brighton Officer who had apprehended a suspect on a Northfield Bench Warrant. The Northfield Officer took custody of the suspect and transported him to the Washtenaw County Jail for lodging while awaiting his court date.

05/17/2019 *Identity Theft
100 Block of Westbrook – A resident reported that while checking her credit report she discovered an unauthorized account opened in April. The victim contacted the financial institution associated with the account and all activity was stopped. No financial liabilities were held against the victim and the financial institution has begun an internal investigation.

05/23/2019 *Attempt Fraud
3900 Block of Harbor Cove- A resident reported that she responded to an email offering the opportunity to earn extra money by advertising a product on her vehicle. The resident reported that she than received two identical checks with explicit instructions for depositing the checks that were to be used to pay for the advertisement. The resident became suspicious and made a police report. An officer advised the resident not to cash the checks and to discontinue contact with anyone regarding this matter. The case remains under investigation.

05/25/2019 *Harassing Phone Calls
9200 Brookside –A resident reported that she received harassing phone calls from known subjects – An officer contacted the subjects and mediated the situation – no further contact has been made to the resident by the subjects.

05/28/2019 *Larceny(Theft without force)
500 Block of East Shore- A home owner reported that she allowed a known subject to stay at her residence while she was out of town; upon her return, the home owner discovered property missing. The case remains under investigation.

05/28/2019 *Arrest – Fugitive Warrant
500 Block of East Shore – While investigating a reported disorderly incident, officers encountered a subject and determined that he was wanted on an outstanding warrant. The subject was arrested and turned over to the agency holding the warrant.

05/30/2019 *Felonious Assault
Main & East Shore – A passenger of a vehicle called police to report that while stopped at a gas station, her friend was approached by unknown subjects who began arguing with him. When the complainant & friend attempted to drive away, one suspect ran after the car and threatened them with a rake. Officers identified the suspects involved and the case remains under investigation.

05/30/2019 *Malicious Destruction of Property
Whitmore Lake Library – A library employee reported that someone carved obscenities into several of their picnic tables. If anyone has knowledge as to who would have done this, please contact the Northfield Twp Police.

05/31/2019 *Larceny of Gasoline
300 Block of 6 Mile – An employee reported that a driver of a semi- truck pumped several gallons of gasoline into his vehicle after having credit card issues. The driver than left without completing a payment transaction. The semi is described as blue with a flatbed trailer and the driver is described as a white male, late 50’s to early 60’s with grey hair wearing a green Carhart brand pocket shirt and blue jeans. The case remains under investigation.
