Excessive Heat Warning until 08:00PM

The combination of very hot temperatures and elevated humidity values will result in dangerous heat indices across all of South Texas today. Heat indices are expected to become excessively hot across the southern Coastal Bend where humidity values are highest. The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued an Excessive Heat Warning, which is in effect from 11 AM this morning to 8 PM CDT this evening.

* TEMPERATURE...Heat index values around 115 degrees.

* IMPACTS...Increased risk of heat-related illnesses including Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke.

* AFFECTED AREAS: COASTAL KLEBERG ... INLAND KLEBERG ... COASTAL NUECES ... JIM WELLS ... INLAND NUECES

Instructions:

An Excessive Heat Warning means that a prolonged period of dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are likely. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air-conditioned room...stay out of the sun... and check up on relatives and neighbors.
