Moraga-Orinda Fire units, joined by CalFire, Contra Costa Fire and East Bay Regional Parks Fire, have the vegetation fire under control.  The fire burned about 1 to 1.5 acres on the south side of the Canyon Bridge.  No homes were in danger.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Unfortunately, someone was flying a drone around the fire.  This made it unsafe for helicopters to drop water and airplanes to drop retardant on the fire.  This could have had tragic results if the fire had begun to spread as firefighters would have lost a critical tool to fight the fire.

Do not fly a drone around an emergency incident and interfere with fire or law enforcement operations as it is hazardous to all involved.
