Jackson Police arrest a known gang member.
A portion of the mission statement of the Jackson Police Department states “it is the mission of the Jackson Police Department to improve the quality of life for all citizens of our community.”
On June 5th, Investigators with the Jackson Police Department Gang Unit arrested Jermal Marable who is a thirty-four year old confirmed member of the “111 Crip” gang. Marable who is also known by the street name “J-Hood” was arrested and charged with violation of Tennessee Code Annotated “Unlawful Carrying or Possession of a Weapon.” During a traffic stop, Gang Investigators located a handgun in the vehicle driven by Marable. Marable is a convicted felon for numerous violent crimes and is prohibited from possessing a firearm.
According to Chief Julian Wiser, “Suppressing gun crimes and criminal gang activities are a top priority of the Jackson Police Department. Jackson Police will continue to focus efforts on reducing violent crimes and sending violent gang members to prison.”
