Mark your Calendar - Fireworks Display June 28! This year the annual Lawrence Township fireworks display at Rider University will be on Friday, June 28.





Mercer County Mosquito Spraying - Adulticide applications (spraying) are conducted when biting adult mosquito populations exceed public health or nuisance thresholds. Spraying is scheduled for June 7 between 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m. (weather permitting). Please go to the Mercer County website for additional details and spraying locations.

Route 206 Roadwork to Begin: We have been advised by NJDOT that the maintenance roadway repair project on 206 is anticipated to begin on June 3, 2019. Please see Notice to Residents.



Road Work - NJDOT has scheduled a repaving project on I295 from Route #1 in Lawrence Township to Highway 29 in Hamilton.  Lane shifts and closures will occur - please expect delays and use caution in the construction areas.





NJDEP Offers Safety Tips as Bears Leave Their Dens in Search of Food: It is important for residents who live in "bear country" to be aware of steps they can take to reduce chances of bears coming onto their property. Please see Press Release. Additional information can be found on the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection website.




Message from the Department of Public Works:

The Township recently revised the brush collection regulations effective January 1, 2019. (Ordinance No. 2307-18)
 

NEW YARD WASTE COLLECTION RULES

Brush will continue to be picked up according to the zone schedule. Please refer to the Zone Map below.

  • Brush should be placed at curbside no earlier than the weekend prior to the scheduled pickup week
  • Yard waste shall be placed along the front yard curb of the property which it has originated for collection.
  • Collection will be limited to brush and tree prunings.
  • Tree trunks and limbs in excess of 6 inch diameter will not be collected.
  • Limbs should be cut in lengths of 3 feet or less.
  • All limbs and brush should be placed at the curb in an orderly manner.
  • The size of the pile may not be larger than 3 feet high and must be placed not greater than 4 feet from the edge of the pavement. The pile shall not exceed 12 feet in length.
  • No wire, nails or metal should be left in the materials.
  • Diseased material and firewood will not be collected and disposed of by the Township. This material must be disposed of privately.
  • All tree stumps are the homeowner’s responsibility. The Township will not collect tree stumps.


BRUSH WILL NOT BE PICKED UP IF THE ABOVE RULES ARE NOT FOLLOWED.

All commercial landscapers shall be registered annually with the
Township of Lawrence by March 31st.

There is no brush collection during November and December, leaf collection only.

The week of June 10 is Zone 2.


If you have any yard waste, you may take it to the Ecological Facility on Princeton Pike between the hours of 7:30 am and 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday.  The Ecological Facility is now open on Saturdays.
