Last night shortly before 8:00 PM the Sheriff’s Office received a call of a possible dead body on a rock in the middle of the Gualala River in the 22600 block of Stewarts Point Skaggs Springs Rd., Annapolis.
Deputies arrived and located the man’s body but were unable to retrieve him since it was in the middle of the river in a steep ravine. A deputy maintained watch overnight and this morning, plans are being made to retrieve the man’s body by using either rescue ropes or helicopter.
Evidence at the scene indicate the man could be a victim of a car crash so CHP has been called to the scene to investigate and will report on any further information on the ongoing investigation.
