The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from late Friday morning through Friday evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 207 Southwest Colorado Lower Forecast Area and Fire Weather Zone 290 Paradox Valley Forecast Area.

* WINDS...Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...12 to 17 percent.

* IMPACTS...Should these conditions develop, rapid rates of fire growth and spread are possible.

* AFFECTED AREAS: SOUTHWEST COLORADO LOWER FORECAST AREA ... PARADOX VALLEY
