Wilmington Police arrest two wanted suspects caught shoplifting

Wilmington Police have arrested two shoplifting suspects in separate incidents in a two-hour span at the same business.
 
On May 29 at approximately 10:35 a.m., a police officer on patrol observed a man with an active warrant for shoplifting enter the Walgreens in the 1300 block of North Union Street. The officer entered the Walgreens, and observed 27-year-old Rasaan Lyle-Butcher conceal several items in his pants. Police took Lyle-Butcher into custody without incident, and in the course of their investigation, learned that he had shoplifted from the same business on four prior occasions.
 
Lyle-Butcher was processed on his outstanding warrant and charged with five counts of shoplifting. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on his own recognizance pending further proceedings.
 
At approximately 11:53 a.m. on the same date, another police officer was on proactive patrol in the area when he observed 44-year-old Sean Klosiewicz fleeing from the Walgreens with a basket full of items. The police officer chased the defendant, who was taken into custody without incident. He was found to be wanted on an outstanding capias as well.
 
Klosiewicz has been charged with shoplifting and resisting arrest. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $1,000 unsecured bail.
