Suffolk County Police today arrested a Lake Ronkonkoma man for burglarizing a pharmacy early this morning.

Fourth Precinct Patrol Officer Carol Tappen responded to a burglar alarm call at Slater Pharmacy, located at 407 Hawkins Ave., at 6:51 a.m. and observed a hole in the wall on the corner of the building. Canine Officer Mark Sacco and his partner Bosco responded and initiated a track through a wooded area in the rear of the store. Officer Sacco and Bosco located cash along the track and then located a man with white particles on his clothing that matched building materials damaged in the burglary. Cash and prescription medication stolen during the burglary were recovered by police.

Jason Romano, 36, of 90 Newton Blvd., was charged with Burglary 3^rd Degree. He will be held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on June 3.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this burglary to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
