EASTERN SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTIES UNTIL 615 PM PDT...

Aviso meteorologico: Tormentas eléctricas y fuertes lluvias se esperanpossible cerca de Cuyama y Nuevo Cuyama esta tarde. Manténerse alerta a las condiciones cambiantes.

At 434 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a number of strong
thunderstorms 27 miles across eastern San Luis Obispo County, the
Carrizo Plain, and the Cuyama Valley, moving southeast at 10 mph.
These storms are capable of producing heavy downpours with localized
flooding, hail up to half inch in size, erratic wind gusts up to 40
mph, and dangerous lightning. This activity is expected to continue
through 615 PM this evening.

Locations impacted include...
Carrizo Plain...Shandon...California Valley...Highway 166...and Cuyama.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
