Thunderstorms are forecast for Thursday. A Flash Flood Watch is posted from 2 PM through 10 PM Thursday for Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Salem, Somerset, Sussex, and Warren Counties, and from 3 PM to 10 PM for Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic, and Union Counties. Rainfall of 0.5” to 2” is forecast, with locally-higher amounts possible.

Heavy precipitation Thursday creates potential for localized flooding where rainfall is heaviest, in urban areas, at low-lying areas, on roads, and at locations with poor drainage. Flooding potential is enhanced where waterways are stressed from prior rainfall and runoff. Thunderstorms may bring damaging winds and hail.
