Advisory

Uptown Sedona construction begins June 3

You are receiving this email because you signed up for Nixle notices for Sedona in Motion Uptown construction. In the future, we will only issue Uptown construction text alerts for time-sensitive construction changes or problems. To receive regular weekly construction work updates, sign up for the e-newsletter described below or attend the weekly Monday Morning Meetup.

The city's first major Sedona in Motion construction project begins in Uptown on Monday, June 3. The work will last approximately nine months. The contractor expects to maintain two-way traffic on SR89A throughout the project. Work on the new Jordan Road roundabout may close that intersection during construction hours. If so, detour signs will guide traffic.

You are encouraged to subscribe to the weekly construction newsletter issued by our contractor. To subscribe, visit www.simuptown.com and scroll to the bottom of the web page.

Other ways to stay informed:

  • Visit the www.simuptown.com website. This site includes detailed project design documents and other information.
  • Sign up for the weekly newsletter at www.simuptown.com.
  • Attend a Monday Morning Meetup to speak directly with the construction contractor. The meeting locations will rotate among several Uptown businesses. The schedule is posted in newsletters and at www.simuptown.com.
  • Call the project hotline at 928-852-4164 for questions and concerns.
The city is making a special effort to accommodate and assist Uptown business owners during construction by distributing fliers door-to-door, partnering with the chamber of commerce on special promotions, and in other ways that are described in the Business Construction Support Guide posted on the chamber website at www.sedonachamber.com.

Thank you for your patience during this work. This project is a major step forward in improving traffic flow in Sedona, which the community has told us is a top concern. The plan and design of the Uptown construction project were put together with extensive public input, including two years of work on the Transportation Master Plan, two well-attended Uptown open houses, several direct mail notices and numerous group and personal discussions with residents and business owners.

Please forward this message to any friends who may be affected by the Uptown construction project.
