DATE/TIME: Sunday, May 26, 2019/7:00 am

INCIDENT: Possession of a Stolen Vehicle/Attempt Murder of a Peace Officer/Deputy Involved Shooting

LOCATION: Arena Road and Fred’s Lane, Pinon Hills

SUSPECT: Brandon Misenheimer, age 29 of Hesperia

VICTIMS: San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies

SUMMARY:
On Sunday, May 26, 2019, at approximately 7:00 am, deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station received information that a stolen vehicle was in the area of Sheep Creek and Phelan Road in Pinon Hills. Deputies located the vehicle at Arena Road and Fred’s Lane. Deputies observed two occupants in the vehicle a driver, later identified as Brandon Misenheimer, and a passenger, later identified as an adult female. As deputies approached the vehicle, they gave multiple commands to the driver, which he refused to follow. Misenheimer turned the car’s ignition on and put the car in reverse accelerating towards a deputy at the rear of the vehicle. Misenheimer then put the car in drive and accelerated forward towards a second deputy. Fearing for their safety, a deputy-involved shooting occurred. Misenheimer then drove the vehicle recklessly through the open desert onto Arena Road. Deputies located the vehicle unoccupied near the intersection of Via Verde and Green Road. Deputies located an adult female hiding in a nearby bush; she was immediately detained. Brandon Misenheimer fled from the scene and remains outstanding.

Detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail, responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. Deputies from the Specialized Enforcement Division also responded to the location and are continuing the search for the suspect.

The adult female was interviewed by detectives and released.

There were no injuries to the deputies involved, the female passenger, and there is no evidence that suggests the suspect was injured.

No additional information is being released at this time. Updates will be issued as new information becomes available for release.
