Incident Summary:
 
On Friday, May 24, 2019 at approximately 9:31 pm officers were dispatched to the area of Prospect Street and Walnut Street on report of a vehicle collision.  Officers responded and located Cristian Albert Bernal-Angulo who admitted to being involved in the collision and exhibited signs and symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol.
 
According to a witness Bernal-Angulo was driving westbound on Prospect Street at a high rate of speed.  Bernal-Angulo ran the stop sign at the intersection of Prospect Street and Keokuk Street.  Due to the excessive speed Bernal-Angulo’s vehicle it became airborne.  Bernal-Angulo lost control of his vehicle and collided with a parked vehicle.  The force of the collision caused the parked vehicle to be pushed into a telephone pole.  Bernal-Angulo’s vehicle spun and came to rest in the front yard of a house on the opposite side of the street.  Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the collision.   
 
Bernal-Angulo’s blood alcohol content was measured at .116%.  Bernal-Angulo was arrested for 23153(b) VC; Driving Under the Influence and was booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
