Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 08:00PM

At 733 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles west of Grandview, moving east at 40 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Kansas City, Overland Park, Olathe, Independence, Lee's Summit, Shawnee, Lenexa, Leawood, Raytown, Grandview, Belton, Prairie Village, Raymore, Gardner, Merriam, Harrisonville, Mission, De Soto, Spring Hill and Greenwood.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CASS, MO ... JACKSON, MO ... JOHNSON, KS ... MIAMI, KS

Instructions:

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for northeastern and east central Kansas...and west central Missouri. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
