Northeastern Polk County in western North Carolina...
* Until 330 PM EDT.
* At 238 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 11 miles west of
Rutherfordton, or 5 miles southeast of Chimney Rock State Park,
moving east at 10 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind
damage to trees and power lines.
* Locations impacted include...
Rutherfordton, Spindale, Green Hill, Union Mills, Shingle Hollow
and Forest City.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Scattered trees and power lines will be blown down in the warned
area. Seek shelter inside an interior room.
