Deputies respond to a non-injury traffic collision and arrest an involved driver for Assault with a Deadly Weapon

INCIDENT: Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Threatening Crime with Intent to Terrorize
LOCATION: Hesperia Road and Cherry Hill Drive
SUSPECT: Ronald Earl Fredrick, 19-year old Victorville resident
VICTIM: 17-year old male
SUMMARY:
On May 22, 2019, deputies from the Victorville Police Department were called to respond to a non-injury collision on Hesperia Road and Cherry Hill Drive.
While in route to the scene, additional calls were received advising that one of the involved drivers had a baseball bat and appeared to be threatening to assault the other driver. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the 17-year old male victim and 19-year old Ronald Earl Fredrick had been involved in a minor vehicle collision. When the victim tried to exchange information with Fredrick he attempted to leave the scene. The victim used his cell phone in an attempt to take a photo of Fredrick and his vehicle license plate. Fredrick exited his vehicle with a baseball bat and charged towards the victim while threatening him.
Deputies were able to take Fredrick into custody without incident. He was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon and threatening crime with intent to terrorize. No injuries were reported.
