Wilmington Police arrest two juveniles found in stolen vehicle
Wilmington Police have recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested two juveniles who led officers on a foot pursuit.
On May 13 at approximately 12:15 p.m., police were called to the 100 block of West 6th Street in reference to a vehicle that had been stolen. At approximately 6 p.m. on the same date, an officer on proactive patrol in the area of East 5th Street and North Pine Street located the vehicle. A traffic stop was attempted and all four of the vehicle’s occupants exited the vehicle and fled in different directions.
Police were able to take two juveniles – a 16-year-old male and a 14-year-old male – into custody without incident after a brief foot pursuit.
The 16-year-old male has been charged with receiving stolen property over $1,500 and resisting arrest. He was also processed on outstanding charges of terroristic threatening and criminal trespass (third degree). He was arraigned on all four charges in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $600 unsecured bail.
The 14-year-old male was charged with resisting arrest and arraigned in New Castle County Family Court. He was released on $1,000 unsecured bail.
