Advisory

UPDATE - Major traffic delays on Highland at Rosecrans expected tonight 5/21 and Wednesday 5/22. Please consider an alternate route.

Major traffic delays on Highland at Rosecrans are expected tonight, Tuesday May 21 through tomorrow, Wednesday May 22 as part of the SCE electrical upgrades in progress.

One of the southbound lanes on Highland Avenue (just north of Rosecrans Avenue) will remain closed from Tuesday, May 21 through the afternoon of Wednesday, May 22 due to shoring requirements.  The project will likely extend beyond 3:30 PM the afternoon of Wednesday, May 22.

Work will continue Thursday, May 23 and Friday May 24 from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.  The signals at the intersection of Highland Avenue and Rosecrans Avenue will be turned to flashing red between 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM, and southbound traffic will be routed into one northbound lane while the work is underway.

Please consider avoiding this intersection and taking an alternate route for the duration of the week as significant traffic delays are expected.

If you have any questions, please contact the City’s Public Works Inspector, Carl Blank III, at (310) 802-5306.
