Deputy pursues motorcycle and learns it's stolen 
Deputy David Jones of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Christopher Eugene Hamlin, 35, address listed as Black Mountain, with larceny of a motor vehicle.
At 11 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, Jones was on patrol on U.S. 70 West in Pleasant Gardens, when a motorcycle driver spotted him and attempted to flee. Jones gave pursuit to a house on Clover View Drive, where he found Hamlin.
Further investigation revealed that the 2016 Honda motorcycle, valued at $3,000, had been reported stolen in Asheville.
