If you receive a phone call from someone who represents themselves as an employee of Central Hudson asking for a past due payment, please attempt every effort to confirm who you speaking with. Central Hudson local office number is 1-845-452-2700 if you need to verify the call. If they request that you go to the store to get prepaid credit cards in order to make the payment then that is more than likely a scam.

An IRS phone scam is also going around. The IRS will not have you confirm a social security number by having you state what it is. Please attempt to confirm who you are speaking with before giving any personal information over the phone.
