Location: Petaluma Boulevard North at SB 101 On-Ramp

Incident Summary: A vehicle collision involving three cars was reported on Petaluma Boulevard North at the southbound 101 on-ramp. A gold Nissan Sentra struck two other cars that had just been in a collision at that location.

The driver of the gold Nissan acted erratically upon contact by the driver/occupants of the other vehicles and fled the scene in the Nissan, leaving a license plate behind. A witness briefly followed the gold Nissan, which turned onto westbound Skillman Lane from Petaluma Boulevard North.

Petaluma Police Officers located the gold Nissan on the 400 block of Skillman Lane. The driver fled the vehicle on foot and was apprehended on the 200 block of Skillman Lane. The driver of the gold Nissan resisted arrest and ultimately had to be placed in a “WRAP” safe restraint system to prevent him from fighting with officers or harming himself.

The driver of one of the other cars involved in the collision was transported to the hospital with complaints of pain. The driver of the Nissan, Flyn Austin Nichol, was ultimately booked at Sonoma County Jail.
