Wilmington Police investigation results in three arrests, gun seizure
Wilmington Police have arrested three and recovered a firearm and ammunition.
On May 16 at approximately 5:35 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force were on proactive patrol in the 300 block of East 7th Street when they observed a suspicious vehicle parked on the south side of the street.
Officers approached the vehicle and found two of the three occupants to be wanted on outstanding warrants or capiases. In the course of their investigation, police recovered a .357-caliber, semi-automatic pistol as well as seven .357-caliber cartridges.
Police arrested and charged Najee Hammond, 26, with carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on his own recognizance pending further proceedings.
Police also processed the outstanding warrant and capias for the remaining two occupants of the vehicle.
