A local transient was arrested for stealing an ambulance from a Victorville urgent care facility

SUSPECT: Kevin Crowder, 40-year old transient
VICTIM: American Medical Response
SUMMARY: On May 15, 2019, an American Medical Response (AMR) ambulance was stolen from in front of an urgent care facility in the 12100 block of Hesperia Road.
AMR personnel responded to the urgent care facility for a medical emergency. While inside tending to the patient, the suspect got into the ambulance and drove away. Deputies from the Victorville Police Department located the ambulance westbound on Bear Valley Road. The suspect yielded to deputies on Bear Valley Road, near the Interstate 15 on-ramp. The ambulance was recovered undamaged.
The suspect, later identified as Kevin Crowder, was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for vehicle theft. He is scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on May 17, 2019.
