Due to the recent storm damage, there has been an influx of home repairs companies doing business in our community. Although the majority of these businesses are reputable, this can also a time for home repair fraud to occur. At this time we have had no complaints of home repair fraud, but want our residents to urge caution when dealing with any business, especially if they solicit over the phone or door to door. We especially urge everyone to keep an eye out for our elderly neighbors who can be a prime target for those with ill intent. A reminder that anyone who solicits door to door is required to have a village permit. At this time no home contractor has a village permit to solicit. Please contact the police department if you observe anyone who is soliciting or behaving in a suspicious manner so we can investigate.
