INCIDENT: Prowling, Possession of a Dirk or Dagger and Possession of a Controlled Substance

LOCATION: 6000 Block of Glasgow Avenue, San Bernardino

SUSPECT: Steve Carl Quiroz, 58-years-old, resident of Hemet


SUMMARY:
On May 13, 2019, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Central Station received reports of a prowler at a residence on the 6000 block of Glasgow Avenue. The prowler was seen concealing himself in bushes near the victim’s bedroom window. Deputy Ortiz arrived and saw Steve Quiroz hiding in the bushes at the residence. Ortiz contacted Quiroz and he ran, but Quiroz was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. Deputy Ortiz found that Quiroz is unknown to the victim.

Quiroz was found to have an active no-bail warrant for his arrest. He possessed a fixed blade knife, which was concealed on his body, along with illegal narcotics. Quiroz was arrested and booked at the Central Detention Center and his being held without bail.

It is believed Quiroz may have been in the area peeping and prowling at other residences. We urge the public to call or text law enforcement if they see suspicious activity.
