Deputies from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office investigated a fatal ATV accident yesterday. The call came in at about 8:00 PM from a woman who stated she had found her father deceased under a rolled-over ATV in the 4500 block of Grange Rd. This is a vineyard where her father worked. When he didn’t come home from work, she went to the vineyard to look for him and found him deceased underneath the ATV.
Her father, whom is identified as 62-year-old Luis Gonzalez Valencia of Santa Rosa was inspecting irrigation lines with the ATV when it rolled and landed on top of him. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Due to this being a workplace death, the incident was turned over and will be investigated by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal-OSHA).
