Traffic stop leads to arrest for DUI and felon in possession of a concealed firearm.
On May 14th, at 7:25 pm Officer Williams stopped a vehicle for driving at an unsafe speed and driving in an erratic manner. While talking to the driver of the vehicle, Officer Williams noticed the driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Officer Parodi, a recently assigned DUI enforcement officer conducted a DUI investigation and determined the driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol as well as other controlled substances.
After arresting the driver for suspicion of DUI the officers searched the vehicle prior to a tow truck arriving. During the search, Officer Williams located a .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun concealed in the center console of the vehicle. The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle was found to be a convicted felon illegally in possession of the handgun.
John Perry a 56-year-old male Suisun City resident was arrested for DUI and felony weapons charges. Perry was booked into Solano County Jail.
