Amarillo Crime Stoppers - Crime of the Week - Fatal Hit and Run
Amarillo Crime Stoppers is asking for the community’s help on a Fatal Hit and Run in this week's "Crime of the Week". On May 12, 2019 at 11:35 PM, APD officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of NE 15th on an accident involving a pedestrian who had been struck while walking his dog. Officers located a 61 year old male deceased in the road. Officers discovered that the victim had been struck by at least 2 vehicles and both vehicles fled the scene before officers arrived. The male was not in a crosswalk when the collision occurred. The dog that was with him was also struck and deceased at the scene. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department. If you have any information about this incident, call Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.
