Deputies locate a loaded firearm during a traffic stop

INCIDENT: Felon in Possession of Firearm/ Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale
LOCATION: 300 Block of D Sreet in Needles
SUSPECT: Enrique Lovato, age 35 a transient of Needles
SUMMARY: On May 12, 2019, at 11:11 am, deputies from the Colorado River Station/ Needles Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 300 block of D St. in Needles. One of the passengers in the vehicle was identified as Enrique Lovato. Lovato had a no bail warrant for his arrest for violation of Community Supervised Release. During the investigation, deputies located a loaded .22 Caliber semi automatic pistol in his possession as well as a substantial amount of suspected methamphetamine. Lovato was interviewed and subsequently arrested. Lovato was booked into the Needles jail on a no bail warrant and additional charges.
