The Amarillo Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit is looking for the suspects from a fatal Hit and Run

 

 

On May 12, 2019 at 11:35 PM, APD officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of NE 15th on an accident involving a pedestrian who had been struck while walking his dog. Officers located a 61 year old male deceased in the road. Officers discovered that the victim had been struck by at least 2 vehicles and both vehicles fled the scene before officers arrived.  The male was not in a crosswalk when the collision occurred. The dog that was with him was also struck and deceased at the scene.  Justice of the Peace Robert Taylor has ordered an autopsy.  The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.
