* Until 545 PM EDT.

* At 445 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 15 miles southeast of Sylvania to 6 miles north of Springfield, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and powerlines.

* Locations impacted include... Ridgeland, Springfield, Hampton, Lake Warren State Park, Varnville, Estill, Guyton and Furman. This warning includes I-95 in South Carolina between mile markers 18 and 30.

* AFFECTED AREAS: HAMPTON, SC ... EFFINGHAM, GA ... JASPER, SC

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. If this is not possible, avoid open outdoor spaces and remain low. Stay away from tall objects such as trees and utility poles.
