Alert

Coastal Flood Advisory until 07:00PM

Long period swells continue to push into the Middle Texas coast leading to tide levels rising to near 1.0 ft above ground level (2.0 ft above MSL) at times of high time today. This will lead to water approaching or reaching the dunes along area beaches. The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory, which is in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening.

* COASTAL FLOODING...Tide levels remain high along the coast, near 1 foot above ground level (2 feet above Mean Sea Level) during high tide this late afternoon.

* TIMING...Through this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Poor driving conditions are expected as water reaches the dunes, mainly during high tide cycle. Some beach access roads will be impassible. High water levels will also approach low areas along the intracoastal waterways and bays.

* AFFECTED AREAS: NUECES ISLANDS ... KLEBERG ISLANDS

Instructions:

A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
