On Friday, May 10, 2019, at 12:02 AM, Corcoran officers were dispatched to the area of the 2400 block of Whitley Avenue for a shooting incident.  Upon arrival, officers located a 16 year old male juvenile suffering from gunshot wounds to his back and torso.  The juvenile was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

During the investigation, officers conducted a search at a residence in the 1900 block of Estes Avenue.  During the search, officers located a handgun and ammunition, and arrested a 16 year old male juvenile.  The juvenile was booked into the Corcoran Police Department Jail for the charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.  The juvenile was later transported to the Kings County Juvenile Center in Hanford.
