Organized Retail Theft - Suspects Arrested

Torrance Police Community Lead Officers concluded a lengthy investigation into a sophisticated retail theft ring. For several months, Torrance Police worked alongside agents from CAL-ORCA (California Organized Retail Crime Association) to investigate individuals suspected of knowingly purchasing large amounts of stolen high-end merchandise (i.e. clothing, handbags, sunglasses and luggage) from Department Stores, then illicitly selling the items at local swap-meets.

On May 9, 2019, Torrance Police Community Lead Officers and Detectives partnered with El Segundo Police Detectives to arrest four individuals, and to serve a search warrant which yielded mass amounts of suspected stolen merchandise with an estimated value of 2-3 million dollars.

The Torrance Police Department is grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the “Organized Retail Crime Association” resulting in the apprehension of those involved in criminal activity DR 190020725. Pictured right is recovered property.

It is believed these individuals are responsible for multiple crimes within Southern California and other states.  The Torrance Police Department encourages retail stores and businesses who have reported losses to contact the Torrance Police Department at:  BusinessCLO@TorranceCA.Gov
