VICTIM: (2) Montebello Police Officers
 
SUSPECT:  male Hispanic adult, 49 years old
 
UNIT:  Homicide Bureau – Lieutenant Dean
 
NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are assisting the Montebello Police Department in an Officer Involved Shooting.  The incident occurred on Thursday, May 09, 2019, at approximately 1:30 p.m., on the 200 block of West Victoria Avenue, Montebello.
 
Officers responded to the location regarding a disturbance call.  When they arrived, they encountered the suspect, a male Hispanic adult, 49 years old holding a shot gun.  It appears at this time, that the suspect discharged the shotgun at least one time, and the Officers returned fire striking the suspect at least one time in the upper torso.      
          
The suspect was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
 
The Officers from the Montebello Police Department were not injured.
 
The suspects’ shot gun was recovered at the scene.   
 
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
