A frontal boundary will stall in the area while multiple upper level disturbances interact with a very moist air mass through Saturday. This will lead to multiple rounds of heavy rain, especially north and west of Lower Acadiana. 3 to 8 inches of rain will be common along and northwest of a Port Arthur to Lake Charles to Opelousas line. Isolated totals of 12 inches may occur through Saturday evening. The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Louisiana and southeast Texas, including the following areas, in Louisiana, Rapides and Vernon. In southeast Texas, Northern Jasper, Northern Newton, and Tyler.
* From 7 AM CDT this morning through Saturday evening
* Ongoing showers and storms and already saturated soil may lead to flash flooding this morning. An additional 5 to 8 inches of rain is expected in this area through Saturday evening with isolated totals of 12 inches possible from multiple rounds of thunderstorms.
* AFFECTED AREAS: NORTHERN JASPER ... RAPIDES ... NORTHERN NEWTON ... VERNON ... TYLER
