Deputies determine there's no immediate threat to Beattie Middle School following threats from one student to another

LOCATION: Beattie Middle School – 7800 Orange St., Highland

SUSPECT: 12-year-old student


SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, May 7, 2019 deputies responded to Beattie Middle School for a report of a student threatening to bring a gun to school. Deputies learned from staff members that the student had been involved in a verbal dispute with another student, and during the argument threatened to return to school with a gun.

Deputies contacted the student and parents, at their home and confirmed that the student had no access to weapons. It was determined that there was no immediate threat to the students at Beattie Middle School.
