Duo Charged In Motor Vehicle Theft

South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond J. Hayducka announced the arrests of Brawdy Kemp, 21 year-old female of Monmouth Junction, and Bryan McCall, 23 year-old male of Monmouth Junction, for the recent theft of a motor vehicle.

On April 26, 2019 at 4:40pm an employee of the Dollar Tree (4095 Route 1) discovered that her vehicle was stolen from the parking lot.  The victim advised Officers that the she checked her personal belongings and also discovered that the keys to her car were stolen from inside the store.

On May 1, 2019 at 1:02am Officer Michael Hallman was driving through the Whispering Woods Development when he observed an occupied vehicle in the parking lot of the development’s clubhouse.  Officer Hallman then stopped and spoke with the two individuals, Brady Kemp and Bryan McCall, as they were walking away from their vehicle.  Officer Hallman conducted an inquiry on the license plate to their vehicle, which showed it was registered to a different make and model.  Officer Hallman was then able to search the vehicle’s VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) through the DMV database, which indicated that the car was previously stolen from South Brunswick on April 26, 2019 at the Dollar Tree.

Chief Raymond Hayducka credited the diligence of Officer Hallman and the consistent patrols of residential neighborhoods in the success of this case.  Chief Hayducka said, “Officers continuing to conduct checks of residential neighborhoods during their shifts and proactive policework led to the identification of two suspects in this case and the recovery of a stolen vehicle.”

Brady Kemp and Bryan McCall were arrested and charged with theft of movable property, receiving stolen property, and theft of mislaid property.  Both Kemp and McCall were lodged at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending their first court appearance.
