* At 1141 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Independence to 6 miles southwest of Mound Valley to Chetopa, moving southwest at 10 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Law enforcement. These storms have a history of producing 60 to 70 mph wind gusts. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
