Flood Warning until 12:45PM

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Flood Warning for... Southeastern Washington County in north central Maryland... Southeastern Frederick County in northwestern Virginia... Clarke County in northwestern Virginia... The City of Winchester in northwestern Virginia... Jefferson County in the Panhandle of West Virginia... Central Berkeley County in the Panhandle of West Virginia...

* Until 1245 PM EDT.

* At 646 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that heavy rain was falling over the area. The heavy rain will cause flooding. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen in areas the experienced heavy rainfall earlier this weekend. Some areas could pick up an additional one inch of rainfall this morning.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Winchester, Martinsburg, Charles Town, Shepherdstown, Millwood Pike, Ranson, Berryville, Boonsboro, Inwood, Stephens City, Harpers Ferry, Corporation Of Ranson, Kearneysville, Berkeley, Middletown, Keedysville, Bolivar, Sharpsburg, Shenandoah Junction and Boyce.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BERKELEY, WV ... CLARKE, VA ... JEFFERSON, WV ... FREDERICK, VA ... WASHINGTON, MD ... CITY OF WINCHESTER, VA

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
