K-9/Drone Apprehend Suspect
On 05/1/19 at 10:00am, officers from The Janesville Police Department were investigation a retail theft from Shopko at 2500 Humes Road. Officers located the suspect vehicle on N. Pontiac Dr. The vehicle fled from officers and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit was terminated a short time later. The investigation revealed Alexander Schenck was the driver of the vehicle.
On 5/4/19 at 7:45 PM, Officer Williams located Schenck at 254 E. Memorial Dr. in Kwik Trip. Schenck ran out the back door of Kwik Trip to avoid apprehension. During the foot chase, an officer injured their knee.
K-9 Fred and a drone were deployed and located Schenck hiding in a garage in the 700 block of Cornelia St. He was taken into custody at this location.
Alexander Schenck was arrested for the following charges and held at the Rock County Jail:
943.50 Retail Theft
946.41(2r) Resisting Causing Injury
943.10 Burglary
943.01 Criminal Damage to Property
943.20 Theft
